I have always believed that giving back to the community is a responsibility of every individual. It was with this belief that I started my very first contribution to Rick Hansen Foundation over 25 years ago. Since then, over the years, my personal involvement with various charitable organizations include Make a Wish Foundation, Suicide Hot Line, Christmas Bureau and many other fundraisers.
In 2003, by chance I came across an organization which has since stayed close to my heart and soul and continues to be a passion of myself and my company – Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. It has been a place which is home away from home for families with children that are battling terminal illness, but it is all about ‘Embracing Life’ however long that may be. This is a cause that I am extremely passionate about and feel very honored and privileged to be a part of as a volunteer and committee member for the Gift of Time gala.
A Champion is a winner,
A hero…
Someone who never gives up
Even when the going gets rough.
A champion is a member of
A winning team…
Someone who overcomes challenges
Even when it requires creative solutions.
A champion is an optimist,
A hopeful spirit…
Someone who plays the game,
Even when the game is called life.
There can be a champion in each of us,
If we live as a winner,
If we live as a member of the team,
If we live with a hopeful spirit,
For Life.
